Instead of commonly used character “ethical(正)”, Dong-A uses “cauldron (鼎)”
that symbolizes the group's unique founding spirit.

“Jeong-Do(Ethical) management” means
“social responsibility management.”
Koreans in the past used to experience long periods of farming hardship. At that time, people were hungry because it was difficult to even get a meal.
During the period, Kang Joong-hee, the founder and chairman, served the guests in his house with rice cooked in a cauldron. Naturally,
the warmth and affection steaming from the cauldron became the foundation of Dong-A Socio Group.
Dong-A Socio Group inherited the “cauldron serving” spirit of the chairman Kang Joong-hee and adopted it as its management philosophy.
Commonly, the word “ethical” in Jeong-Do(Ethical) management refers to a righteous will. However, Dong-A Socio Group adopted “cauldron (鼎)” as
its corporate vision to indicate its will to practice justice in the right direction and build trust and virtue together with the members of society.
Jeong-Do(Ethical) management (鼎道经營) means social responsibility management and expresses the will of the company to grow together with society.
When the honorary chairman Kang Shin-Ho was inaugurated as president in 1975, he announced a mission statement including social responsibility based on
the value of integrity, sincerity, and consideration, which is the spirit of the business establishment. The legacy has been maintained.
Dong-A selected employees, society, government, shareholders, and consumers as the targets of social responsibility, with a focus on the mission statement.
The company should guarantee its employees basic rights, which corresponds to welfare, supporting the people, and making efforts to improve the health
and welfare of the people by developing new medicine and protecting the environment for society. The company also should also fulfill its
responsibilities and obligations stipulated by the government and make profits by securing corporate soundness for its shareholders. Most of all,
the company should create a structure that ensures the virtuous circle of social responsibilities by providing quality products and services to consumers.
After that, the chairman Kang Jeong-seok declared Jeong-Do(Ethical) management in 2018 in accordance with ISO26000, the international standard for
corporate social responsibility. Dong-A Pharmaceutical will practice human rights management, environmental management, law-abiding management,
consumer-oriented management, and social contribution, based on its own methodology and practical indicators.
Taking one step further, Dong-A Socio Group will continuously strive to become a company that works with the society for a sustainable future.
