The Bacchus business unit is expanding the boundary of the brand by securing various channels, such as expanding agencies and special sales channels and securing export channels, with a focus on Bacchus, the national brand preferred by men and women of all ages.
The name “Bacchus” derived from Bacchus, the god of alcohol in Roman mythology (Dionysos in Greek mythology). This nutritious tonic was developed for workers tired of frequent drinking and hard work. Bacchus was sold as a tablet in 1961 and re-released as an ampoule-type liquid medicine the following year. Then, the medicine was supplemented and improved before releasing as the current drink-type product in 1963. Currently, Bacchus offers a variety of products, including “Bacchus D” sold in pharmacies, “Bacchus F” sold by distribution channels such as the convenience store and mart, “Bacchus Decafe” for consumers who are sensitive to caffeine, and “Bacchus Taste Jelly' enjoyed by people of all ages - from children to teenagers. In particular, almost 22.3 billion bottles of Bacchus were sold cumulatively as of the end of 2021, which amounts to the distance of circling the earth more than 65 times.
The Bacchus business unit has been carrying out “route sale” activities, which provide quality products and services by visiting customers in person, including pharmacies, since the release of Bacchus. The business unit is also carrying out various events such as TV campaigns, 29-second film festivals, and collaboration with various brands to allow communication opportunities with customers.
